Services / Pre-Solar

Pre-solar roof maintenance in Tucson.

Panels last 25 years. Make sure the roof under them does too, before the racking goes on.

Before The Panels / 01

Fix the roof before it lives under an array.

Pre-solar maintenance is the cheapest insurance in Tucson roofing. Solar panels last 25 years. If the roof under them has 5 good years left, you are paying to remove and reinstall the whole array when it fails.

Before your installer shows up, we inspect the roof, make the repairs, and put down a fresh coating so the surface under the panels outlives the racking on top of it. Your solar company gets a sound roof to build on, and you get one less thing that can go wrong.

  • Pre-installation inspection and written assessment
  • Repairs and full coating before the array goes up
  • Water testing after the work is done

Around Existing Arrays / 02

Already have panels? We work around them.

An existing array does not mean the roof under it stops needing care. We maintain and recoat around installed panels without disturbing the system, working carefully between and under the racking.

Daily progress reports with photos are available on request, so you can see exactly what is happening up there without climbing a ladder.

Questions / 03

Pre-Solar Maintenance questions we hear a lot.

01Why do solar installers care about my roof's condition?

Because the array will outlive a tired roof. Panels and racking are rated for decades, and if the surface under them fails at year six, someone has to pay to pull the system, fix the roof, and put it all back. Many Tucson installers want the roof assessed before they will schedule the install, and that assessment is exactly what we do.

02How soon after coating can panels be installed?

The coating needs time to fully cure before racking goes on, typically a matter of days depending on the weather. We coordinate directly with your solar installer's schedule so the roof is ready when their crew shows up, with no wasted trips on either side.

03Do you remove the panels to recoat a roof?

No. For roofs that already have solar, we maintain and recoat around the installed array, working between and under the racking without touching the electrical system. If a section truly cannot be reached, we document it in photos so you know exactly what was and was not treated.
