Marana / 01

Newer homes, same Arizona sun.

Marana grew fast. Continental Ranch, Continental Reserve, Gladden Farms, and the neighborhoods along Tangerine Road went up in a few busy decades, and most of them got a builder-grade flat roof coating that was never meant to last forever. The first wave of those roofs is now ten to twenty years old, which is exactly when the original coating thins out, the seams open up, and the low spots start holding water.

Marana also gets more than its share of dust. Haboob season leaves a layer of grit on every flat roof in town, and coating rolled over that grit does not bond. That is why every job we do starts with a pressure scrub, and why we will not coat a roof we have not cleaned.

Dove Mountain & Solar / 02

Dove Mountain custom roofs, and roofs that are getting solar.

Dove Mountain is a different kind of job. The homes are larger and custom built, with several roof levels, long parapet runs, oversized skylights, and view decks that all tie into the same flat roof system. Coating a roof like that well means working around every one of those details instead of rolling past them, and photographing the problem areas so you can see what we found without climbing up there yourself.

Marana also has some of the heaviest solar adoption in the Tucson area. If panels are in your plans, get the roof coated first: once the racking is on, the surface under it is expensive to reach. If the array is already up, we maintain and recoat around it without disturbing the system.

  • Custom home coatings with careful detail work
  • Skylight repair and replacement, including odd sizes
  • Roof prep before solar installation
  • Maintenance and recoating around existing arrays

Questions / 03

Marana roof questions we hear a lot.

01Do you work in Dove Mountain?

Yes. Dove Mountain is about twenty minutes from our shop, and we are up there for coatings, skylight work, and solar prep on custom homes. The bigger the roof, the more the preparation matters, and that is the part we do not rush.

02Can a dust storm ruin a new roof coating?

Not once it has cured. Dust on a cured coating rinses off in the next rain or the next cleaning. The risk is dust landing on wet coating, so we watch the forecast and do not coat when a storm is moving in. If a job gets pushed a day for weather, that is why.

03Should I coat the roof before or after my solar installer comes?

Before. Once panels are mounted, any roof work under them means pulling the system and reinstalling it. We coordinate with your installer so the roof is clean, repaired, coated, and cured before their crew shows up.
